Review SPS Atlanta 2025
The SPS Atlanta 2025 impressively demonstrated why Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) is considered a key technology for industrial communication worldwide. For the first time, the international trade fair for smart and digital automation took place in the United States – and with the world’s largest SPE Pavilion, covering 250 m², the central platform for SPE was in the spotlight.
Experience SPE live
Together with the SPE Industrial Partner Network, over 26 partner companies, and leading user organizations such as the OPC Foundation, FieldComm Group, ODVA, and the Single Pair Ethernet System Alliance, we showcased the latest SPE solutions and products – from sensors to the cloud.
Visitors experienced the full spectrum of SPE technologies – from 10BASE-T1L and 10BASE-T1S to Ethernet-APL.
Through numerous live demonstrations, it became tangible how SPE simplifies and accelerates industrial communication:
- Seamless IP communication down to the field device
- Simple infrastructure without additional gateways
- Cost efficiency through reduced cabling and fewer components
- Compact design for sensors, actuators, and devices
- Future-proofing through international standards and interoperable systems
The SPE Pavilion thus became a vibrant meeting point for everyone eager to actively shape the future of automation – with deep conversations about end-to-end connectivity and SPE as the technology of the future.
Knowledge that inspires
A highlight was the series of open presentations at the SPE Theater. Notable examples included:
- Simon Seereiner / Thomas Keller (Board Member, Single Pair Ethernet System Alliance): “Why Single Pair Ethernet is ushering in a new era” – a vision of how SPE forms the foundation for a new generation of industrial networks.
- Dr. Al Beydoun (President & Executive Director, ODVA): “SPE is more than just a new cable—it’s a new architecture” – showing how SPE paves the way for a completely new infrastructure and system logic.
All presentations will soon be available online on BrightTALK – the perfect opportunity to rewatch or catch up on inspiration and knowledge.
Impressions in pictures
Alongside the presentations, we have compiled a variety of photos. Dive back into the atmosphere of the SPE Pavilion – or experience the event digitally for the first time.
Conclusion
The SPS Atlanta 2025 has proven that: Single Pair Ethernet is far more than just a new cabling technology – it is the enabler for seamless, efficient, and scalable networks in industry, buildings, and beyond.
Next steps – we’re moving forward
We are already looking ahead:
Next year, the SPS will be held together with IMTS in Chicago – and we will be there!
Look forward to even more innovations, exciting discussions, and the next major SPE presence in the US market.
