Sensors
For the first time, sensors with a single-pair Ethernet interface enable end-to-end Ethernet communication from the field level, where the sensors are installed, to the cloud. In the networked Ethernet topology, all network applications with the appropriate authorisation can access the high-precision sensor values in real time. In industrial applications based on the automation pyramid, for example, the measured values from the SPE sensors can be used consistently at all levels. With these sensors, the 10BASE-T1L technology used also ensures the required power supply to the sensor via the two-wire data cable by means of “Power over DataLine” (PoDL). No additional supply cable needs to be installed. In addition, 10BASE-T1L enables cable distances of up to 1000 metres in the application.
