The Single Pair Ethernet System Alliance was founded 2020 by eight German technology companies as an association to promote and establish the SPE technology. Until today the focus is on the creation of a common market standard.
Together with our customers, we are shaping the digital transformation – with products, solutions and services for Smart Industrial Connectivity and the Industrial Internet of Things. The Weidmüller Group has production facilities, sales companies and representatives in over 80 countries and employs around 5,000 people worldwide.
In the factory of the future, machines and plants will be networked via a complete digital infrastructure. Weidmüller sees Single Pair Ethernet as the backbone of this digital infrastructure. Therefore, experts from different technology fields must enter into exchange and enable the participating companies to build up SPE know-how more quickly within the System Alliance.
Phoenix Contact is your key partner for the integration of Single Pair Ethernet from the device interface to the cabling to the active network component, from the sensors in the field to the PC in the office. As a pioneer in the field of digitalization, Phoenix Contact is developing an integrated product portfolio for this purpose.
As a manufacturer of components and solutions for connection and automation technology, the SPE System Alliance is an important added value for Phoenix Contact in all SPE application areas. The comprehensive overall view of the entire SPE ecosystem is the decisive argument.
Rosenberger is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of interconnect solutions in high frequency, fiber optic and high voltage technology. The global network always offers customers from a wide range of industries an optimized cost structure and outstanding local service. Rosenberger employs around 11,800 people.
The development of Single Pair Ethernet has its origins in the automotive industry. This development is based on two IEEE standards: 100BASE; T1 and 1000BASE; T1. Rosenberger played a leading role in standardization in both committees, especially in the areas of automotive connector design, signal integrity and EMC. We now want to use this existing know-how from automotive applications in automation technology.
Daetwyler IT Infra is an international company headquartered in Switzerland with subsidiaries in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Daetwyler helps organizations successfully expand their core business thanks to future-proof and intelligent IT infrastructures. We are a supplier of innovative system solutions, products and services for data centers, fiber optic networks and intelligent buildings, as well as a partial or general contractor.
Daetwyler IT Infra is a proven expert in IT infrastructure solutions. For the additional technologies required for the system solution, there are strong partners within the alliance with whom a successful customer-oriented solution is being developed.
The alliance not only provides Daetwyler with the right forums and networks to sharpen our product solutions, but also a platform to verify the benefits of this technology with use cases. Last but not least, it enables us to make an important contribution to public relations in the service of SPE technology.
The Prysmian Group is a world leader in power and telecom cable systems. With almost 140 years of experience, sales of over EUR 11 billion, approximately 29,000 employees in over 50 countries and 112 plants, the Group is strongly positioned in high-tech markets and offers the widest possible range of products, services, technologies and knowledge.
Industry 4.0 and digital buildings with the Internet of Things will massively change the way we live and work in the future. The associated applications will require upgrades to the physical cabling infrastructure. Key element will be “All-IP” and Power over Data Line (PoDL) network. Single-pair Ethernet (SPE) technology will migrate proprietary technologies and enable efficient integration of sensors and other small devices.
We see it as our task to work on any change in the physical transmission paths in power and communication networks. Therefore, working on SPE is part of our DNA. Saying “We have the SPE cable range” is not enough for us. We want to understand the complete solution. The “ecosystem” is the enabler here, which is only possible in a network of partners.
R&M has been developing and manufacturing high-quality, future-proof connection and distribution technology since 1964. As a Swiss family-owned company, R&M is today one of the world’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of advanced cabling systems for data and communication networks.
Quality-conscious and strong in innovation, R&M covers the entire range of copper-based and fiber optic connection technology.
R&M sees SPE as a network technology with revolutionary potential in the IoT and IIoT. SPE can replace traditional fieldbus systems and help realize high density, fast connections and easy installation.
SPE is an ideal complement to existing digital ceiling concepts based on RJ45 in the smart building.
Sick AG, headquartered in Waldkirch (Breisgau), is a global manufacturer of sensors and sensor solutions for factory, logistics and automation technology. The company employs more than 10,000 people and generated sales of EUR 1.7 billion in 2020.
We are involved in the SPE System Alliance to drive and promote the technology as an industry-standard together with the members.
We would like to participate in the exchange of technological know-how together with strong partners within the alliance and also take advantage of the opportunities for joint marketing activities.
Telegärtner offers you a broad portfolio of services, intuitive handling of products and solutions, and above all: quality made in Germany. It is important to us to find the right solution for our customers. That is why we offer high-quality standard solutions and customized project solutions. In this way, we want to help our customers achieve their goals and thus make them a bit more future-proof.
SPE is the next revolution in network technology. The packing density, which saves up to 50% space compared to RJ45, the continuous communication from the sensor to the cloud and the standardized mating face according to IEC 63171-2 and -5 will also be applicable for existing cabling infrastructures. All this makes the SPE the universal Ethernet network of the future!
